    Marc T. Taylor, M.D.

Dr. Taylor has had residency training and is Board Certified in both Plastic Surgery and Otolaryngology (ear, nose, and throat). Dr. Taylor has experience in cosmetic surgery, reconstructive surgery, hand surgery, and in treating patients with lasers.

He was one of the first physicians in the country, and the first physician in south Texas, to offer patients effective laser treatment for congenital vascular problems such as port wine stains and hemangiomas. He also performed some of the original laser treatments in Texas of spider veins and broken blood vessels of the face and legs, as well as other skin conditions, such as brown spots, tattoos, and wrinkles.

Dr. Taylor was the first physician in San Antonio to acquire a laser for his practice to use in hair removal. The Palomar Epilaser and the E2000 were the first lasers truly effective at permanently removing hair.

Dr. Taylor has recently obtained the latest technology with the Palomar Starlux Intense Pulse Light (IPL) system available for hair removal, destroying blood vessels, treating rosacea, treating acne, and treatment of other skin problems.

Dr. Taylor also performs many types of surgical cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery procedures as part of his practice. Since he is Board Certified in both Plastic Surgery and Otolaryngology (E.N.T.), he has experience in many facial and nasal procedures from a cosmetic as well as a reconstructive aspect. The other pages of this web site give general information concerning many procedures, and they also answer many commonly asked questions for each procedure or area.

Lasers and cosmetic surgery have become widely available over the last few years, and it is important to know that your physician is experienced and well-trained. Dr. Taylor has over 20 years of experience in lasers. He is certified by the American Board of Plastic surgery, a Member of the American Society of Laser Medicine and Surgery, and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgery and the Texas Plastic Surgery Society. He has served in many positions in the Bexar County Medical Society, including President in 2002, and has been Head of the Medical Executive Board in the Baptist Hospital System in San Antonio.

Dr. Taylor also has special training and experience in dealing with injured workers and the different workers' compensation systems, as well as the many state and federal government systems and programs.  He is the past President of the American Academy of Disability Evaluating Physicians (AADEP), which is the only major medical association or organization that is devoted to training physicians in how to evaluate injured workers and individuals.  ( See www.aadep.org/ )  He has developed special courses for many state workers' compensation systems and has trained thousands of physicians from all over the country and many parts of the world in how to evaluate injured workers properly, how to deal with return to work issues, and how to use the various editions of the AMA Guides to the Evaluation of Permanent Impairment.
