How
They Work
The lasers and
IPL machines use a
low energy laser and light machine to gently remove unwanted hair. Because the laser
and IPL machines fire energized light over larger areas, it is possible to treat
large areas such as the back, face,
arms, and legs. Laser and IPL treatments are usually effective
to some degree on hair on almost any area of the body.
IPL and Laser Hair Removal is a gentle process
involving several steps. First, it is usually required that a few day’s hair growth
is visible to determine the areas for treatment. The areas are than cleansed and shaved.
Then the areas are scanned with the IPL or laser. The light energy passes through the skin and is
absorbed by the pigment in the hair follicles and the hair
shaft. This usually disables the hair follicle, depending on
its size, depth, and location. The
treatment session with the IPL or laser can last from a few minutes to ½ hour, depending on the
size of the area treated.
The
number of treatments you may require for optimal long term benefits depends on your skin
pigmentation, the area you wish to have treated, and your hair’s growth cycle.
Although it might not be possible to have "permanent" removal of
all your hair, most
individuals can obtain 2-6 months of delayed growth with 4
to 6 treatments to the area.
Each area, such as the upper lip or chin, requires 4 to 6 treatments to the whole area before
long term delay of growth can be obtained. Even though the hair removal might not be
"permanent," the hair that grows back is usually lighter in color and thinner
than what it was prior to the IPL or laser treatments.
Your hair grows in cycles. The hair follicle has to be treated at the
right phase of the growth cycle, so that several treatments
or different treatment cycles might be necessary to achieve
the desired, long term result. As described above most areas require at least
4 to 6 treatment sessions.
Treatment costs vary as to the size treated. Each treatment
session averages $200-350.00, although some areas might be treated for less.

$35.00 Government Environmental and Preparation Fee for Each
