Light Laserbrasion

The light laserbrasion is a unique, inexpensive laser treatment, which uses the Erbium:YAG laser to rejuvenate and to resurface the skin. The Erbium:YAG laser is excellent for treatment of sun damaged skin, facial wrinkles, superficial pigmentation (melasma and other brown spots), as well as scars. The laser removes the sun damaged and older, thicker skin on the surface and helps the collagen layers rebuild new, tighter skin. The Erbium:YAG has a shorter healing time and fewer problems with prolonged redness and skin pigmentation changes when compared to other lasers.

The light laserbrasion uses the Erbium:YAG laser to laser the skin lightly, providing a deeper and much more effective treatment than "acid" or "chemical" peels, but allowing the return to normal activities quickly. The light laserbrasion treatments are designed to rejuvenate the skin and to remove much of the sun damaged areas. The results are superior in terms of rejuvenation of the skin, but the light laserbrasion will not remove deep wrinkles, scars, or discolored areas. The light laserbrasion will remove many of the fine lines of the eyes, forehead, and mouth. It will also smooth out many of the "blotches" in the skin from sun damage. To remove the deeper wrinkles, scars, and discoloration, the Erbium:YAG laser is used, but the healing time is not as short as with the light laserbrasion.

The healing time for the light laserbrasion is from 2-5 days and allows an individual to return to work or other activities using makeup almost immediately. The treatments give the appearance of a deep sunburn, which can be covered with makeup immediately. After the skin heals in a few days the redness subsides very quickly, leaving a healthier and rejuvenated skin.

Although a significant change in the skin texture and appearance can be obtained with just one treatment, since the laser treatments are done very lightly, it frequently takes several treatments, done 1-3 weeks apart, to obtain maximum benefit. The best results and healing are obtained when the treatments are combined with a home skin care program. The results are long lasting and in the long run far less expensive to obtain when compared to "peels" and other skin treatments.

The treatments take approximately one hour, and there is minimal discomfort. For a small additional fee a topical anesthetic can be used, if arrangements are made prior to the treatments.
