The ins and outs of Potenza™ RF Microneedling

Potenza™ RF Microneedling is a newer cosmetic treatment that combines traditional cold microneedling with radiofrequency (RF) energy. This procedure tightens the skin, stimulates collagen production, and improves skin texture, firmness, and elasticity. By creating micro-injuries in the skin, Potenza™ RF Microneedling encourages the skin’s own natural healing process, leading to a smoother, firmer, and more radiant complexion. It’s effective for both prevention and correction of skin issues, suitable for all skin types, comes with four different settings, and is FDA-cleared. At LaserAway, we only use Potenza™ technology for all of our RF Microneedling treatments.

Exploring Injectables: Botox, Xeomin, Juvéderm, and Revanesse

Injectables are divided into two categories: neuromodulators like Botox and Xeomin, and dermal fillers like Juvéderm and Revanesse. All of these injectables below are offered at all of our clinics.

  • Botox and Xeomin: These neuromodulators are FDA-approved for reducing and preventing fine lines and wrinkles. They work by temporarily paralyzing the muscles that cause these wrinkles, leading to smoother skin. They are effective for treating forehead lines, crow’s feet, frown lines, and other facial wrinkles, with results lasting about 3-4 months.
  • Juvéderm: This hyaluronic acid-based dermal filler comes in different formulations and is used to smooth wrinkles, restore facial volume, and augment shape. It’s especially effective for treating lips, nasolabial folds, marionette lines, and cheeks, with results lasting 12-24 months, depending on the specific product used.
  • Revanesse LIPS+: Known for its value and effectiveness in hydrating and restoring volume to the lips as well as nasolabial folds and marionette lines, Revanesse LIPS+ is a hyaluronic acid based dermal filler that provides results that can last up to 12 months.

What are the benefits of combining Potenza™ RF Microneedling and injectables?

When combined, Potenza™ RF Microneedling and injectables provide a holistic approach to skincare. Potenza™ RF Microneedling targets skin laxity and texture and promotes collagen production, while injectables specifically address volume loss. Both treatments target wrinkles. This combination can lead to more comprehensive and lasting results. For deeper, static wrinkles, our clinicians recommend combining RF Microneedling with a neuromodulator or filler for the best results possible.

What you need to know about treatment scheduling and spacing

Proper spacing of treatments is crucial for maximizing benefits and minimizing risks:

  • Potenza™ RF Microneedling and Neuromodulators (Botox/Xeomin): It’s advised to wait a minimum of one week between treatments. Ideally, Botox or Xeomin should be scheduled 2-4 weeks before Potenza™ RF Microneedling on the face or neck.
  • Potenza™ RF Microneedling and Fillers (Including Lip Fillers): A minimum two-week interval is recommended between treatments, irrespective of the order of treatments.

Bottom line: combining Potenza™ RF Microneedling with injectables can help you achieve significant improvements in skin texture, firmness, and overall appearance with minimal downtime. Want to learn more about these treatments and more? Reach out to one of our treatment specialists here.
