Our prescription-strength numbing cream totally works, so most patients only feel mild to moderate discomfort that can best be described as a prickling sensation with increased heat.

Yes! By using tiny needles to create purposeful damage via “micro-injury zones”, RF Microneedling is able to remodel collagen deep within the skin. In essence, it prevents early signs of aging by banking collagen for later, while at the same time addressing current signs of aging by creating new collagen in areas where it’s been depleted.

About 1-2 hours depending on the area(s) being treated. Numbing cream will be applied to the treatment area, which takes about 30 minutes to set. Then, your clinician will remove the cream and begin the treatment, which takes around 30-90 minutes to complete.

It depends on your skincare goals. While some results may be noticeable after one treatment, most patients opt for our recommended three to six treatments spaced four to six weeks apart to truly achieve their goals. Some even opt to have routine RF Microneedling treatments as a regular part of their skin fitness regimen.

RF Microneedling combines the benefits of microneedling and radiofrequency to rejuvenate skin at multiple layers. To maximize results, we recommend that you schedule RF Microneedling treatments four to six weeks apart.

RF (Radiofrequency) Microneedling treatments at LaserAway tend to be gentle because the technology we use is specifically designed to minimize side effects. Immediately after your treatment, you may experience mild to moderate redness, inflammation and skin sensitivity —but these side effects usually subside within a few days or up to a few weeks. RF Microneedling offers meaningful results with a series of treatments. Each treatment delivers heat to the layer of skin responsible for collagen remodeling, and results keep improving with each additional treatment. In order to achieve the longest lasting results possible (and to improve your overall SkinFitness™), we recommend an initial series of at least three to six treatments, as well as regular maintenance treatments as part of your SkinFitness™ regimen.

RF Microneedling is not recommended for those who are pregnant or have implanted active medical devices. Patients who are breastfeeding will be advised that while that is not a contraindication for treatment, we will not be able to dispense numbing cream to them. Certain skin conditions and medications disallow energy-based treatments altogether. That’s why we require you to have a free consultation prior to your first treatment, where you’ll talk us through your skin history and we’ll assess whether the treatment is right for you.
