ARE DERMAL FILLERS AFFECTED BY SUN EXPOSURE?
Bad news… they are. In fact, numerous studies have shown that exposure to ultraviolet radiation found in sunlight degrades the hyaluronic acid contained in Juvéderm. If you want your results to last, try not to spend too much time in the sun. But if you do have to spend prolonged time in the sun, be sure to wear a high SPF and use a topical antioxidant to help fight free radicals.
WHAT ARE DERMAL FILLERS, ANYWAY?
Dermal fillers such as Juvéderm help to diminish facial lines and restore volume and fullness in the face. As we age, our faces naturally lose subcutaneous fat. The facial muscles must then work closer to the skin’s surface, leading wrinkles such as smile lines and crow’s feet to become more apparent. The facial skin also stretches a bit, adding to this loss of facial volume, along with other factors such as sun exposure, heredity, and lifestyle. Dermal fillers can plump thin lips, enhance shallow contours, and soften facial creases and wrinkles, allowing us to age naturally and gracefully.
DERMAL FILLERS AT LASERAWAY
At LaserAway, we are proud to offer Juvéderm and Revanesse. Juvéderm provides three different formulations – Juvéderm Ultra XC, Juvéderm Ultra Plus XC, and Juvéderm Voluma. Juvéderm Ultra XC and Revanesse are primarily for contouring, hydrating, and volumizing lips. Juvéderm Ultra Plus XC is a more robust formulation designed for adding volume and correcting deeper lines and facial wrinkles, while Juvéderm Voluma helps contour, lift, and restore volume in the cheeks.
Juvéderm produces immediate results, and these results continue to improve for one to two weeks as Juvéderm softens and draws moisture into the area. You can expect these results to last from 6 months, up to two years.
