Thermage FLX

Does Thermage Hurt?

Most patients find Thermage® to be very tolerable, though it can feel more intense than lighter treatments. As the device delivers radiofrequency energy deep into the skin, you may experience a brief heating sensation followed by cooling to keep the surface comfortable. The sensation is often described as a series of warm pulses with mild discomfort in certain areas. Because Thermage® stimulates collagen in the deeper layers of skin, it can feel stronger than treatments like IPL Photofacials or Instant Glow Laser Facials, but it’s still manageable. Your clinician will monitor your comfort throughout the session and adjust settings as needed.

What does Thermage® feel like?

Patients describe it as alternating bursts of heat and cooling across the skin.

Is numbing cream required?

No, Thermage® doesn’t usually require numbing cream since the cooling system helps protect and soothe the surface.

Is the discomfort the same across all areas?

Some areas, like around the eyes, may feel more sensitive, but most patients tolerate treatment well.

What happens after treatment?

You may notice temporary redness, swelling, or a sunburn-like sensation that fades quickly.
