What happens during a Thermage treatment?

Your Thermage® appointment is designed to be precise, comfortable, and effective. To begin, your clinician applies a temporary grid to the treatment area, ensuring every section is thoroughly targeted. The handheld Thermage® device then delivers short pulses of radiofrequency energy, each lasting just a few seconds. As the energy penetrates deep into the skin to stimulate collagen, the device’s built-in cooling system protects the surface and helps keep you comfortable. Most patients describe the sensation as alternating bursts of heat and cooling, with mild discomfort in more sensitive areas. Depending on the size of the area being treated, your session may last between 45 and 90 minutes. Afterward, you can return to your normal routine right away, with only mild redness or swelling that typically fades within a few days.
