*Results and patient experience may vary.
THEY’RE NOT JUST FOR YOUR FACE
We know they have the word “facial” in them, but IPL Photofacials can be performed anywhere on the body. They’re useful anywhere you have sun damage, brown or red spots, hyperpigmentation or age spots. One of our most popular treatment locations besides the face is the chest (we get it, sunny day, low-cut top, sounded like a good idea at the time).
ARE IPL PHOTOFACIAL TREATMENTS RIGHT FOR YOU?
IPL Photofacials are designed for those with sun damage and red or brown discoloration in their skin, and are only safe for patients with a certain degree of contrast between their discoloration and their natural skin tone—meaning fairer skin types. Not sure if this is you? Book your free consultation and we’ll answer all of your questions and assess which of our many skin rejuvenation treatments is right for you.
Don’t take our word for it
Here’s what our patients have to say about their experience.
ABOUT THE PHOTOFACIAL EXPERIENCE
The procedure is fast and easy, taking only about 20 minutes to complete. Your clinician will start by giving you protective eyewear and applying cool gel to the area being treated. Then, they will use the IPL handpiece to deliver precise pulses of light to your skin. Does it hurt? The treatment can be a little uncomfortable, but tolerable. Some of our patients describe it as being similar to a rubber band snapped against their skin.
Results from IPL can be subtle at first, but continue to improve with each successive treatment, depending on the condition of your skin. Many of our clients require multiple IPL treatments to achieve their SkinFitness™ goals, but the number is truly different for everyone. For the best possible results, you’ll also need to make sure you’re using sun protection daily (we’re talking SPF 50+ and barrier protection like wide-brimmed hats and long sleeves) before and after your treatment. HOW IPL PHOTOFACIALS WORKS
IPL (which stands for Intense Pulsed Light, remember?) works by delivering precise, high-intensity visible light pulses that target the pigment (hemoglobin or melanin) cells in skin imperfections. The heat from the light destroys the unwanted pigment. The result? Removing redness and irregular pigmentation from things like sun damage, rosacea and more from your skin. Not to mention, the heat from the light also encourages collagen production, which improves the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and gives you that healthy glow.
