The VelaShape Choice
A cellulite and circumferential reduction treatment that combines bipolar radiofrequencies, infrared light, vacuum, and mechanical massage, Velashape tightens skin and improves the appearance of cellulite.
From your first VelaShape treatment, your skin appears tighter, firmer, and smoother. Results become most apparent six to eight weeks later, after you have undergone about six treatments.
Though it works on all skin types and tones, VelaShape results can vary.
You’re a good candidate if you have a Body Mass Index (BMI) of less than 30 and you fall under cellulite classification stages one or two.
Stage-one cellulite shows no dimpling as you stand or lie down. A pinch test, however, reveals an orange peel–like appearance.
Stage-two cellulite dimpling appears spontaneously when you stand but not when you lie down.
If these criteria don’t describe you, you can still benefit from VelaShape. But the results will be less dramatic.
Velashape is not recommended if you have a pacemaker or metal implant in the area to be treated. If you’re a new mother you must wait three to six months and have stopped nursing before you may undergo a VelaShape treatment.
VelaShape consists of radiofrequency, infrared light, vacuum suction, and mechanical massage. The infrared light and radiofrequency energies heat with precision dermal and hypodermal tissue in the treatment area. This boosts metabolism of fat cells and reduces their number. In this way it eliminates cellulite.
Mechanical massage rollers gently knead the treated area. This increases circulation, encourages lymph drainage, and eliminates fat-cell byproducts and toxins.
Vacuum suction smooths out dimples by stretching fibrous bands in your topmost layer of skin (epidermis). This reduces the appearance of cellulite.
The VelaShape Experience
You lie down on a table and your medical professional applies a lotion-like spray to the area to be treated.
Your medical professional then places the VelaShape machine gently on your skin. The feeling is one of a persistent rolling massage sensation that slowly begins to warm. You also feel slight pressure as the area is massaged. It has been described as a warm, relaxing deep-tissue massage. A session usually lasts 20 to 40 minutes.
Afterwards, the treated area may feel slightly warm and tender for a few hours. You may experience mild bruising and redness, but this usually goes away after a few days. In rare cases, very loose skin may scab or blister.
For best results, six VelaShape treatments are recommended. They should be spaced a week apart. Most medical professionals recommend that you get monthly maintenance treatments for the first three months after your initial six treatments. They also recommend regular treatments every three months thereafter.
VelaShape Before and After
The VelaShape Difference
Clinical trials have shown that people undergoing VelaShape treatments experienced half an inch to a full three inches of circumferential reduction in treated areas after four treatments. What’s more, their cellulite shrank by up to 63%. Another clinical study showed that 85% of patients saw their thighs shrink up to three inches.
