How Long Until I Can Return To My Normal Activities After Thermage?

You can return to your usual routine right after treatment—Thermage requires no downtime. That said, for the best results and a smooth recovery, it’s important to follow a few aftercare guidelines.

For the first 24 hours, avoid direct heat and sweating, including steam rooms, saunas, hot yoga, and intense workouts. Skip hot showers and baths, and use cool water and gentle soap when bathing. After cleansing, pat skin dry with a clean, soft towel.

To protect your skin in the days that follow, avoid direct sun exposure and tanning beds. Wear SPF 30+ daily, and use wide-brimmed hats, sunglasses, and protective clothing when outdoors. Also, avoid topical irritants like harsh cleansers, exfoliants, medicated products, or retinols during the recovery period. To soothe any irritation or sensitivity, apply 1% hydrocortisone mixed with Vaseline® or Aquaphor® up to three times a day or as needed.
