LaserAway offers an advanced, minimally-invasive solution for minimizing the appearance of scars using a combination of cutting-edge laser and RF technology with Rejuran® Healing Essence. Whether your scar is new or a few years old, our treatments are tailored to help improve texture, tone, and skin health.
Note: This treatment is not intended for keloid scars. True keloid scars are rare and often confused with hypertrophic scars. Your clinician will help determine the best approach.
How Scar Therapy Works
Customized treatment based on scar age:
For Newer Scars (<1 year old):
Clear + Brilliant Perméa laser targets the scar directly and surrounding tissue using a specific pass pattern, followed by Rejuran® Healing Essence to promote healing and collagen support.
For Older Scars (1+ years old):
Potenza™ RF Microneedling breaks up dense scar tissue, followed by Clear + Brilliant for enhanced penetration of Rejuran®. This dual-modality approach helps remodel deeper layers of skin to improve the appearance of scar tissue.
Each session builds on the last, and visible improvement is typically seen after 3 treatments.

Who’s A Candidate?
Most healthy adults with non-keloid scars are great candidates for Scar Therapy. However, to ensure safety and effectiveness, some factors may affect your eligibility:
You’re likely a candidate if:
Your scar is fully healed:
Waist-up scars: Wait at least 8 weeks post-injury or surgery
Waist-down scars: Wait at least 10 weeks post-injury or surgery
You’re not pregnant or breastfeeding
You do not have a history of anaphylaxis due to fish or shellfish
Your skin is intact (no irritation, acne, rashes, sunburns, or infections in the area)

FAQs
We treat flat or slightly raised scars, including those from surgery, injuries, or other skin trauma. We can address both newer scars (as early as 8–10 weeks post-injury) and older, more established scars. However, we do not treat true keloid scars, which require different medical intervention.
We recommend waiting 8 weeks for waist-up scars and 10 weeks for waist-down scars to ensure complete healing.
Older scars are treated with a dual-modality approach using Potenza™ RF Microneedling + Clear + Brilliant to break up fibrotic tissue and stimulate collagen remodeling. Rejuran® Healing Essence is then applied to enhance results.
Rejuran® is formulated with polynucleotides (PN) derived from purified salmon DNA, which is 97% biocompatible with human skin. It’s applied topically post-treatment to support tissue repair, hydration, and skin regeneration.
Most patients see visible improvement after a series of three treatments, spaced:
3–4 weeks apart for facial scars
6–8 weeks apart for body scars
Your provider may adjust this based on scar type and response.
Downtime is minimal. You may experience slight redness, sensitivity, or peeling in the treated area for a few days, but most patients resume normal activities within 24–48 hours.
Scar Therapy is not recommended during pregnancy. If you’re breastfeeding, the numbing cream or certain components used in treatment (like Rejuran®) may be contraindicated. We recommend waiting until after breastfeeding is complete.
Rejuran® is derived from salmon DNA. While the purification process removes most allergenic proteins, patients with a history of anaphylaxis to fish or shellfish should not undergo Rejuran®-based treatments.
Yes, we can treat scars on both the face and body, but anatomical location affects timing and technique. Our treatment specialists will evaluate the area and recommend a personalized treatment plan.
