A typical Xeomin appointment takes about 30 minutes from start to finish, with the actual injections lasting just a few minutes.

What to expect during your appointment:

  • 6–8 precise Xeomin injections, customized to your facial anatomy and treatment goals
  • Guidance from your LaserAway clinician to make natural expressions, such as frowning, smiling, raising your brows
  • Careful mapping of your facial movement to ensure balanced, effortless-looking results

For hyperhidrosis, your clinician will map out evenly spaced injection points on the underarm area.

Afterward, you may notice mild redness or tenderness at the injection sites for a few hours. These effects are completely normal and fade quickly, letting you get back to your day with no downtime.

How to Prepare for Xeomin

A few simple steps can help optimize your results.

Before treatment:

  • Avoid alcohol the day before to reduce bruising
  • Skip caffeine on the day of treatment
  • Eat a balanced meal beforehand
  • Arrive with clean skin, free of makeup and lotion. If being treated for hyperhidrosis, please also avoid deodorant.

How Xeomin Works

Xeomin works beneath the surface to deliver smoother, more youthful-looking skin. Once injected, it targets the nerve endings in your facial muscles and blocks the release of acetylcholine (the chemical signal that tells those muscles to contract).

When those muscles relax, the skin above them softens and smooths. Within a few days, fine lines and wrinkles fade, revealing a refreshed, confident look that still moves naturally with every expression.

  • How does Xeomin work?

    Curious how Xeomin works? We're glad you asked. Once injected, Xeomin blocks the release of acetylcholine, the neurotransmitter responsible for triggering facial muscle contractions.   • How much is Xeomin?
    Your Xeomin treatment plan will be customized to your personal goals and the areas being targeted, and pricing varies based on this. We can discuss specific pricing, as well as our payment plan options, in person during your free consultation.
  • How long does Xeomin last?
    You’ll start seeing results within three to seven days, and they’ll reach their peak effectiveness in about two weeks. After that two week mark, the strength of the Xeomin will gradually become less intense. In about two to four months, it’ll be time for another treatment.
  • Does Xeomin hurt?
    It’s just a few seconds of mild discomfort in exchange for a wrinkle-free lifestyle. We use a small 32-gage needle, so you’ll feel a slight pinprick, nothing more. Numbing cream is not necessary for this treatment, but we do offer ice packs upon request.
  • Is there anyone who shouldn’t get Xeomin?
    Xeomin can be effective for anyone ages 18-60 to treat or prevent wrinkles. However, you should avoid Xeomin if you have allergies to bovine products, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or are living with a neurological disorder.   • Will I experience any side effects with Xeomin?
