Body Contouring

VelaShape or Zerona? Both Are Great, But Which Should You Choose?

VelaShape and Zerona are both body contouring procedures that can reduce fat and drastically reshape your body.

But which one you choose all depends on your unique needs. We’re here to give you the lowdown on both procedures, as well as what each one does. This should help you determine which one you should choose.

We’ll first start off by explaining the ins and outs of VelaShape:

VelaShape Will Change Your Body

VelaShape is an innovative body contouring procedure that effectively and safely contours, shapes and slims the body by reducing cellulite and problem areas. Best of all, VelaShape is non-surgical and non-invasive, requires no downtime, and is virtually painless.

How Does VelaShape Work?

VelaShape’s amazing results come from an fairly complicated and intricate system.

VelaShape boasts four different components – radiofrequency, infrared light, vacuum suction and mechanical massage. The infrared light and radiofrequency energies allow VelaShape to precisely heat dermal and hypodermal tissue in the treatment area. This heating effect boosts fat cell metabolism and reduces the number and size of fat cells, thereby eliminating cellulite. At the same time, VelaShape’s mechanical massage rollers gently knead the area, increasing circulation, encouraging lymphatic drainage and eliminating fat cell byproducts and toxins. Finally, the vacuum suction technology smooths out dimples by stretching fibrous bands in the epidermis, reducing the appearance of cellulite. The end result of these high-tech applications is a significant reduction in body circumference and cellulite, and smoother, firmer skin.

Should You Choose VelaShape for Your Body Contouring Needs?

VelaShape likely has something to offer you.

VelaShape is effective on all skin types and tones. VelaShape procedures target cellulite, smooth and tone body tissues and tighten skin, and they work on almost everyone.

But even though VelaShape works magic on pretty much everyone, some people will respond to it better than others. The best candidate has a Body Mass Index of less than 30 and falls under cellulite classification levels one and two. What does this mean? Stage one cellulite shows no dimpling while the patient is standing or lying down, but a pinch test reveals an orange peel appearance. Stage two cellulite indicates orange peel dimpling that appears spontaneously when standing up but not when lying down.

People who do not meet these criteria can still benefit from VelaShape — but the results will be less dramatic. There are those people who because of unique medical conditions cannot undertake VelaShape treatments. This includes people with pacemakers or metal implants in the treatment area. Women who have given birth must wait three to six months and must have discontinued nursing before undergoing VelaShape.

A VelaShape Procedure Is Quick and Enjoyable

So what happens exactly during a VelaShape treatment? First you’ll be asked to lie down on a table, and one of our medical professionals will apply a lotion-type spray to the treatment area. The VelaShape machine will then be gently placed on the skin, and you’ll generally feel a persistent rolling massage sensation that slowly begins to heat up. Slight pressure will then be applied to the area while the skin is being massaged. Most people agree that the procedure is relatively painless – in fact, many compare it to a warm, relaxing deep tissue massage. And it’s relatively short too. Depending on the area being treated, VelaShape sessions typically last between 20 and 40 minutes.

Afterwards, the treated area may feel slightly warm and tender for a few hours. You might experience mild bruising and redness, but this usually goes away after a few days. In rarer instances, scabbing or blistering can occur in people with very loose skin.

To reap all of VelaShape’s benefits, you should undergo six treatments at one week intervals. After the initial series of treatments, most medical professionals recommend monthly maintenance treatments for the first three months, followed by regular treatments every three months thereafter.

VelaShape Gets Results

Most people notice exciting results after just one treatment, including tighter, firmer and smoother skin. After six treatments, people see a significant reduction in cellulite, along with a few inches in circumferential reduction.

Zerona Will Take Years – and Inches – Off Your Looks

Zerona is another cutting-edge body contouring procedure that works differently than VelaShape. Instead of reducing cellulite and reducing size, it removes excess fat, enabling patients to lose inches from their waist, hips, and thighs. It’s also non-surgical and non-invasive with no downtime involved.

Cold Laser Technology Will Help You Lose Inches — Fast!

Zerona utilizes cold laser technology, which emulsifies fat and allows it to move to interstitial space. More specifically, the cold laser technology’s low-level laser stimulation exclusively releases the cellular contents of fat cells while leaving the capillaries and other cells within the interstitial space intact. By disrupting the cell’s membrane, the cell then releases its fat contents. Once the fat contents are released, the body’s lymphatic system absorbs it. Basically, Zerona procedures cause fat cells to shrink, resulting in a loss of inches on areas such as the waist, hips and thighs.

Zerona Can Work Wonders on Almost Everyone

Zerona is effective on all skin types and tones. Zerona emulsifies fat cells, leading to significant circumferential reduction and an overall improvement of skin tone and shape.  The ideal candidate for Zerona is someone who wishes to lose overall inches from their waist, hips and thighs, producing a general slimming effect. Specifically, Zerona is most effective when used in patients who are already leading healthy lives and seeking weight loss in problem areas, such as the waist, hips and thighs, or who want to jump start their weight loss.

Zerona is not ideal for individuals who cannot commit to a healthy lifestyle. Zerona procedures require patients to follow a healthy diet and moderate exercise regimen to keep the cells from refilling with fat. Individuals with pacemakers also should not undergo Zerona treatments as they can interfere adversely with pacemakers. Women who have given birth should wait six weeks before using Zerona.

It should be noted that Zerona is safe for individuals with diabetes and thyroid disorders, but the procedure might not be as effective.

Just 40 Minutes and You’re Done!

During a Zerona treatment session, which takes approximately 40 minutes, patients are asked to lie down on a table. For the first 20 minutes, five cold lasers target patients’ front bodies, and for the remaining 20 minutes, the back part of the body is then treated. The best part of Zerona is that is it completely pain free and there are no adverse post-procedural side effects, meaning no downtime.

Patients are required to commit to a series of six treatments every other day for two weeks, and they cannot exceed more than 72 hours between treatments. If more than 72 hours intervene, the fat cells may reuptake some of the fat. It is important for patients to adhere to a strict diet and exercise regime, with includes exercising for at least 30 minutes a day, drinking between 8 and 10 glasses of water daily, and refraining from caffeine and alcohol consumption (caffeine and alcohol interfere with the lymphatic process of removing and metabolizing fat, which could make the treatment less effective). By maintaining a healthy diet and exercise program, patients can expect long term results.

There’s No Doubt About It: Zerona Works!

Zerona treatments are so effective that most patients experience an average loss of 3.64 inches on their waist, hips, and thighs in a matter of weeks. Some patients even witness a nine-inch circumferential reduction after their first series of treatments, and results can be seen in as little as fourteen days.

Best of all, results can be permanently maintained by following an easy, healthy diet and exercise program that consists of:

  • Exercising a minimum of 30 minutes a day
  • Drinking at least eight glasses of water daily
  • Refraining from consuming alcohol or caffeine

So What to Choose: VelaShape or Zerona?

Choosing between VelaShape and Zerona all depends on your needs. In a nutshell, VelaShape targets cellulite and reduces body circumference whereas Zerona is designed to blast away fat and reduce the size of your waist, hips, and butt.

So it really all comes down to whether or not you have cellulite or fat that you want to get rid of. Either way, both VelaShape and Zerona are highly effective treatments that will leave your skin looking smoother and your figure smaller and shapelier.
