If I could give negative stars, I would. I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction with my recent and first experience regarding IPL photo facials through LaserAway. After seeing an Instagram post advertising IPL treatments for rosacea, I contacted LaserAway and spoke with an employee who I later learned was located in Colorado. I am in Idaho. During our conversation, I was asked to submit photos of my skin, which I provided via text. Those photos were reviewed by an NP, and I subsequently completed a FaceTime consultation on March 10, 2026, during which I was approved for treatment. I was informed that most clients finance treatment packages through Clarity Pay and that I would need a minimum of six sessions. Based on this information and after being told I was approved, I was then required to fill out the application through Clarity Pay and it was approved for financing. My in person appointment was scheduled for 3 PM on March 18, 2026 at the Boise, Idaho location. I arrived and waited 10 minutes in the lobby, followed by an additional 40 minutes in the treatment room without any communication or apology for the wait. When the clinician finally arrived, she reviewed the IPL process, took additional photos, and stated that an additional approval was required due to concerns about treating "tanned skin." At that point, it became unclear why I had already completed a consultation, submitted photos, AND applied for financing if I may not have been an appropriate candidate. Requiring patients to secure financing before definitive medical approval is both inappropriate and unacceptable. The clinician returned at approximately 4:00 PM, apologized for the delay, and explained that the team was uncertain whether treatment could proceed. I was offered the option to continue waiting, which I declined. When I checked out the clinician told me that someone from their office would contact me later that evening once a decision was made. That call never occurred, and I have still not received follow up communication. I went to their website on the 19th and wrote an email (this review) at approximately 11:40 am MST. They said they reply to all emails within 24 hours. False! It is currently March 20th and still have not received a call or a reply back to my email. I called the Boise office location at 11 am and was connected to someone (not in the Boise office mind you) and they put me on hold for 15 minutes then came back and said I talked to someone and they are with a patient right now, but they will be calling you back within 15 minutes. Also false. Still no call.The kicker? I physically walked into Laser Away today, the 20th, around 2 pm and there were 4-5 girls standing and sitting around the front desk just gabbing away. Yet no one had time to call me back? I asked to speak to a manager. The manager, I am assuming, said "okay." That's all. Just "okay" and stared at me.Then thankfully, Bethany the front receptionist remembered me and said that she could help me. Her and her manager had me sit down and I explained the entirety of what had happened. "Apparently" they were under the impression someone had reached out to me and said that I was finally approved. Major lack of communication on so many levels. I told them I wanted the financing to be cancelled immediately. They offered me a complimentary hydro-facial to which I declined. The manager said NOTHING. This entire experience was unprofessional, inefficient, and disrespectful of my time. While I understand the importance of patient safety, the current process is deeply flawed. I spent an a hour and half of my time, wasted, for an appointment that should never have been scheduled without proper vetting. I will never step foot in that office again! And I highly recommend that you don't either!
