I had a very disappointing and frustrating experience with LaserAway and feel it’s important to share for anyone considering their services. I initially started laser hair removal with them about a year ago, and my first appointment went smoothly. Based on that experience, I went ahead and purchased additional packages for IPL and tattoo removal. Unfortunately, things quickly went downhill after that. For my next hair removal appointment, they canceled on me at the last minute, claiming they didn’t have any technicians available. This was extremely frustrating, as I live nearly two hours away and had already taken the entire day off work. This wasn’t a one-time issue—out of eight scheduled hair removal sessions, they canceled four times, often the same day. Meanwhile, I repeatedly asked about starting my IPL treatments, and for months I was told they didn’t have any technicians available to perform the service—despite having already sold me the package. After continued complaints, they eventually refunded me for IPL because they still couldn’t provide the service. I then began tattoo removal treatments, which turned into the most concerning part of my experience. On my third session, with yet another new technician (staff turnover seems extremely high), I was severely burned around my tattoo. The burn was significant enough that it has left permanent discoloration. When I reported this to LaserAway, they refused to take responsibility. Instead, I was given conflicting excuses—being told it was an “ice burn” from the ice the technician used before the laser, or possibly a reaction to the numbing cream the technician used before the laser. I later had two separate doctors confirm that the injury was caused by the improper use of the laser itself. Regardless of their reasoning, it was clear it was their technician's fault. When I requested a refund for the tattoo removal treatments, I was met with hostility and dismissal. A front desk employee, Sonya, was particularly rude and unwilling to escalate the issue. I was told they “never give refunds” once treatments have started, regardless of the circumstances—even in a case involving injury. To make matters worse, the technician involved is no longer employed there, and I was told that anything she previously communicated to me no longer mattered because she no longer works for the company. That response alone speaks volumes about their accountability. Between the repeated last-minute cancellations, lack of available qualified staff, inconsistent care, and ultimately being burned and permanently damaged, I cannot recommend this location. If you are considering LaserAway, be aware: - Appointments may be canceled last minute, even after significant travel and time off work. - Services may be sold before they even have staff available to perform them. - Results are not “permanent” as advertised, and additional costly treatments are pushed. - In my case, I was physically injured and the company refused to take responsibility. This experience has been incredibly disappointing, and I strongly urge others to do thorough research before committing to treatments here.
